Concept Design

From Vision to Reality, we start with Form & Function, iterating the conceptual design until the final concept is well-refined and evolved. From the beginning, the realities of the environment such as gravity, light, geology, weather and budget are considered in order to preserve the integrity of the original vision while still being able to realize an actual structure. All the realities of building in the real world are woven meticulously into the design throughout the Schematic Design (SD) and Design Development (DD) phases. With the latest building technologies integrated into the conceptual design, the meticulous process of Construction Documents (CD) begins, followed by the Bidding Phase which converts budgetary numbers into actual construction costs. Finally, Construction Administration (CA) begins, insuring that the process of construction properly results in a structure which adheres to the original Vision of the structure. From Concept Design to Reality, DHDI’s design process insures the actualization of the original vision.

Documentation

All phases of the architectural process are meticulously documented including: Conceptual Design, Schematic Design, Design Development, Bidding, Construction Documents and Construction Administration. With tried and true methods from hand sketches to the latest in architectural software, DHDI’s process creates a fully detailed, easily accessible set of documents.

CA

Construction Administration (CA) is the crucial element to insure a design’s realization. Working directly with the contractors and subs, DHDI manages construction of a project simultaneously from a bird’s eye view as well as on site: boots on the ground. Every detail, design, fixture and finish are carefully checked and rechecked, bringing the Conceptual Design to fruition, on time and on budget.
