Los Angeles based singer, songwriter, and artist Dan Wilson was looking to improve the acoustics of his mix room and very compact drum booth/sauna. With a precise custom layout of ZR Micro and ZR Sample Rate 8 Bit acoustical panels DHDI eradicated phase issues, standing waves and ringing. As an artist, Wilson was intrigued by the creative cloth choices available for ZR Micro’s and was able to choose patterns that matched and enhanced his existing aesthetic styles. The thin yet effective nature of ZR Products were critical elements for this project as space was limited and clarity was a requirement. Despite the acoustical challenges of less than 25% surface coverage, three doors, three windows, parallel walls, and low ceilings, Dan Wilson’s studio is now creating content equal to or better than any purpose built envelope based studio thanks to ZR Acoustics® technology.
