Studio B, a favorite among Westlake clients for it’s privacy, comfort and sound was the centerpiece of a control room redesign in 1998. Technological upgrades included two Studer A827 2″ tape machines, an SSL 4072 G Series console, and an assortment of new outboard gear. Acoustically, room modes and reflections were essentially eliminated through the use of increased absorption, enlarged bass trapping and improved room geometry. The Westlake designed HR-1 main monitors were entirely rebuilt, rewired and re-amplified to give this classic room a new punch.
